Help us keep Dancing and stay on stage nationally and internationally – we want to bring our experience and inspiration home to Cornwall and the Southwest. We have been given the opportunity by Kneehigh and the Royal Shakespeare Company to be part of a company development programme, which includes performing in Kneehigh’s new show Don John. This has been a fantastic experience and inspiration for our future work and we have spent the last 8 weeks working with Kneehigh and performing on stage at the impressive RSC Courtyard Theatre. Not only have we had the opportunity to work with award winning director Emma Rice, Kneehigh’s core team of actors and musicians and the RSC, we are working with artists from Iceland’s premier theatre company Vesturport and Patrycja Kujawska from Vincent Dance Theatre. It is essential for our survival as a Cornish dance theatre company to spread our wings, to draw inspiration from new horizons and to profile our work to a wider audience and network of promoters. This process has only just begun. Over the past twelve months we have made concerted and comprehensive applications to over 18 funding bodies to help support this exciting project without success. So far Kneehigh have underwritten us but in this unstable time, this can’t continue. If we are able to secure financial support Cscape will tour to a further 9 venues across the UK as well as the United States.
