WIDDERSHINS

WIDDERSHINS

Adv. To travel in a left-handed or contrary direction; anti-clockwise; to go about something the wrong way; entry to the faerie realm; to walk “widdershins” is considered bad luck.

And now comes something completely different: WIDDERSHINS. An exciting and original piece of work from the mighty pen of Mr. Carl Grose and directed by Olivier Award winner Simon Harvey

Three times round the circle
And faerie-land begins
Three times round the wrong way
And call it widdershins!”

Old Cornish Nursery Rhyme

Come-a-wander into the weirdy world of WIDDERSHINS: a forgotten village sometime, somewhere, somewhen, buried deep in a darker, wilder corner of Cornwall. ‘Tis hard to find but even harder to leave..

Where mystery lurks in every dark corner and the peculiar populace of WIDDERSHINS yearn to tease you with their far-fetched fables and cautionary tales. Expect stories with a sting, cracked poetry, unforgettable characters and physical theatre alongside the usual irreverence, wit and silliness.

Dark, delirious and delightful.

Under Milk Wood-ish, sort of... only way, waayyyy weirder!

Suitable for adults and older children (12+)
Running time: 70-75 mins (excluding interval)
Written by Carl Grose / Directed by Simon Harvey
Performed by David Mynne / Produced by Millie Jones and David Mynne
